The HEATWAVE continues with close to record-breaking temperatures in Houston, again?
Today’s Forecast:
HOUSTON – At least for May, that is… and the question really is, will we break records again?
We are started the morning in the 70s and 80s with a high of 94 in Houston. Even though we would need to hit 95 to break the record from 2022 – it’s still hot and sticky outside! Perfect day to go to the pool, but we will continue to watch for haze and clouds today!
Weekend Forecast for Galveston: Today’s High: 84 with mostly cloudy conditions – much like Saturday! We continue to watch and track a high RIP current risk for Matagorda Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island, and the Bolivar Peninsula. You’ll want to swim near a lifeguard, and if you get caught in a rip current, relax and float.
Take care of yourself in this heat:
Remember to take breaks to avoid heat exhaustion if you plan to be outside. It usually takes our bodies a few weeks to acclimate to the typical summer Houston heat.
Monday’s Forecast:
Another hot, humid and breezy day on tap for Houston. Houston will come close to the record for Monday is 95 which was set in 2003.
A cold front moves through on Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing a slight chance for showers. The cold front isn’t the type that will drop us back into the 70s, but it will swing winds from the SE to the NE, blowing in drier air that will help squash humidity for a few days. We’ll see a tiny dip in our morning lows which will bring a slight relief to the mornings- instead of waking in the 70s and 80s for our lows – we get to enjoy a couple mornings in the 60s.
10-day forecast:
Temperatures may see a dip back into the 80s as rain chances increase for Memorial Day.
